POWERFUL AFFIRMATIONS TO START THE DAY

Hello hello there, and wow!  What a ride since my last post on the blog... September 2018 wow!

I won't even know where to start - so for now I won't.  But .... I am back and excited to start sharing again all that inspires and motives and keeps me going though this lifetime

I would love to hear from you if anything I share may resonates or have made you ponder for a moment or two.

These beautiful affirmations are from Hanako Therapies

I have saved a few more on my Inspire Pinterest Board here

Sometimes we can feel a sense of overwhelm when so much is beyond our control.  It is exhausting to say the least.  The idea is to not allow the overwhelm to take away from our sense of being.
To notice the overwhelm but then to choose again.  To choose a softer feeling and to choose a lighter feeling.  To reclaim the present moment as fully ours and to focus on just one small thing that is good, that can bring us joy, that can allow us to feel even the slightest of upliftments.  To vibe higher - it is as easy as said and done... but it is a daily practise and to constantly keep checking in on ourselves

To keep our thoughts in alignment with what is for our greatest good

So today - let's focus on 'being' on 'surrendering' on 'going gently'

With love

SEASIDE DREAMING... C'EST LA VIE

In exactly 2 weeks time I will be boarding a flight to Cape Town, South Africa.  I am going on a little long awaited holiday to see my family and friends.  I will arrive the next morning, to glorious sunshine and tight hugs from my folks!

I am very much looking forward to spending a couple of days or more on the West Coast, at my sisters holiday cottages, C'est La Vie - pictures below - isn't it just beautiful and the interiors are picture perfect nautical, blues and whites - a real holiday treasure!  Thank you sis!

We will go for early morning walks, picking shells from the beach and in the evenings watching the sunset from the terrace, chilled wine in hand.... oh bliss, holidays are tops!

If you'd like to know more, please feel free to visit C'est La Vie - and before you know it, your seaside holiday is booked!

PUY LENTIL SALAD WITH FETA, MINT AND SUNBLUSHED TOMATOES

I was first introduced to this recipe a couple of years ago by my good friend Celia. It's not only healthy and nourishing, but also a delicious and colourful meal with an interesting combination of flavors. Lentils are a good source of protein, it has a high iron content, and have been selected by Health magazine as one of the five healthiest food types.

I have just read an interesting variation on 'the merchant gourmet' website; they add crisp Serrano ham to the salad, and I think perhaps I'll try that next time round. It's great for all seasons and once you've tasted this, you'll definitely want to make it again and again. Enjoy!

SOMETHING SWEET, SOMETHING PRETTY, SOMETHING TO EAT

Sometimes we just need a little something sweet!

SPICY APPLE AND PLUM CHUTNEY

I made this tasty chutney over the week-end. A neighbor gave me a whole bag of plums and after making some jam - I thought what better use to make of them, than to cook some chutney. I used the recipe as a guide - and didn't add the star anise or cinnamon, but imagine it could add a real interesting flavor. The recipe is via BBC Goodfood. Enjoy!

HOT WATER AND LEMON

Start the day with a simple hot water and lemon drink.

Lemon is a rich source of
vitamin C. It also contains vitamins like vitamin B, riboflavin and minerals like calcium, phosphorus, magnesium as well as proteins and carbohydrates. Lemon is generally consumed in the form of lemon juice or lemon water. It also has a high potassium content. Lemon water makes a healthy drink, especially when taken in the morning. Daily consumption of lemon water provides a number of health benefits.

Lemon juice acts as a liver tonic and stimulates the gall bladder to eliminate toxins and the acidity in them destroys the harmful bacteria that causes bloating, flatulence and indigestion.
