VILLA SAN SPIRITO - LOPUD ISLAND, CROATIA - STEVEN HARRIS ARCHITECTS

I originally had another project in mind to share, but this jaw dropping Villa in Croatia kind of just fell into my 'www' lap and it would be almost sinful not to share!

This 15th century villa was tastefully renovated to remain beautiful in its old worldly rustic charm, yet very contemporary in feel.  A real paradise get away, with the lush ocean views and that sunny veranda.... surrounded by deep greens and a splash of bright pink here and there - the stone building is offset rather invitingly against the crystal blue waters of the Croatian coastline.

DANISH ROSEWOOD DINING CHAIRS BY IB KOFOD LARSEN

After a moody blue day yesterday - this morning my boss came in with a pair of these wonderful mid century chairs for me!  Bless him, and a big thank you!

They are in mint condition, and I am firstly super grateful and just totally over the moon and excited to get them home.   I've often seen them in second hand stores, and always went back for a second look.

They were designed by IB Kofod Larsen for G-Plan's Danish range and they date from the 1960's.  I'll have the seats recovered in the same black vinyl (not necessary, but will be nice at some stage to have it done) and then I'm all good to go.  They are just quite beautiful and very comfortable and now I finally own a pair of my own

BEA B & B IN BELGIUM

This is Bea Mombaers eclectically wonderful B&B in Belgium.  And doesn't the name in itself have such a nice ring to it?

Perfectly minimal with just the right balance of furniture and accessories to allow that feeling of ease and comfort.   Polished concrete floors look amazing here and so does the wall finishes.

I like this space a lot!  And for anyone else who's keen to visit Belgium in the near future - you can visit her website here and choose from three different room types for your stay.  There are lovely terraces and balconies and even a swimming pool.  Come on summer time!  But, I imagine this would be simply just as nice a winter stay.

NEON POPS IN 1960s VILLA REMODEL BY Amélie – CARPENTRAS FRANCE

I know I may have said this before...... but I may have found my perfect dream home - located near Carpentras, in France - Interior Designer Amélie has beautifully transformed this 1960's villa.  Amélie has a natural eye for the hip and the original and managed to create a modern, if monochrome yet colourful casual home.

The touches of neon throughout the property adds that wow factor we all strive so hard to achieve, yet she seems to have done this rather seamlessly and without effort.  Like it was just always supposed to be like that.  It feels lovely and lived in and naturally un-styled.  

I love the open fireplace and the polished cement finishes on the walls and shower surround and stairs. And I love how very Scandinavian this all fells.

Most of all I love the neutral and natural palette; the use of wood to soften what could be a rather monochrome space and the element of fun she has maintained throughout.  Beautiful or shall I rather say tres jolie!

A BEAUTIFUL CAPE TOWN HOME

When I lived in Cape Town a few years ago I would often walk past this house.  I would often stop and stare and wonder how it looked inside, and also wonder how different the world would look from inside this awesome modernist house.

Who would not want to live here...?  

Designed by a very talented Chilean architect by the name of Antonio Zaninovic based in Cape Town.   Excited to have found an old architect acquaintance who also works at his studio!
