Sometimes I can get a bit stuck - stuck in my routines - and the commute to and from work that tire us out
Sometimes between the everyday comings and goings we get so stuck, we often forget to really live....

To take a step outside, to look at the world with new eyes, with fresh wonder - and realise what a truly magnificent thing it is to be alive here - right now....

On Sunday it was just one of those perfect days for wondering around - camera in hand - I felt like a tourist again, and my early years and memories of being new in London came rushing through.  

I love this time of year - springtime - the blossoms - the flowers and the promise of summer to come...  a few favourite pics I'm sharing with you here

DEA VILLAS CANGGU - SATI VILLA

Today I had the pleasure to stumble upon another exquisite boutique resort called Dea Villas ... and I quote:

'Welcome to Dea Villas - four tropical garden villas in rural Berawa close to Canggu.  A sense of space sets this exclusive enclave apart; each villa comprises living and bedroom pavilions set in its own private gardens with swimming pool, sun deck, lotus ponds and myriad quiet corners.'

'Villa Sati comprises a series of individual pavilions, well screened in delightfully established gardens. The largest of these is the open-sided living pavilion, which looks over an amphitheatre style performance space near the large free-form swimming pool. Encircling the pool are four joglopavilions, each housing a bedroom with garden bathroom and sun terrace. Among these is the sixth and smallest building – an antique lumbung(traditional rice barn) which doubles as a playhouse.'

Spacious - luxurious - traditional Javanese vernacular - yet translated beautifully in a contemporary manner.  The lush tropical gardens are landscaped to perfection - and the layout of the villa's allows enough privacy to retreat to - and again, enough openness to engage and interact with your fellow family members or friends also staying at Dea Villas

I can only imagine how tranquil it must be to awake here - in the midst of a beautiful paradise - life cant get much better than this!

SANARA HOLISTIC RETREAT, TULUM, MEXICO DESIGNED BY STUDIO ARQUITECTOS

Flicking through Pinterest while having my morning coffee - I clicked through to Yatzer to look at an interesting project for a Safari Lodge in South Africa .... but that post I'll be saving till later - cause today I'm sharing with you this beautiful Holistic Retreat called Hotel Sanara.  I seem to be drawn to Mexico more and more these days - guess before I know it, the bags will be packed but until that day  - these stunning images by Pablo García Figueroa will take us on a visual journey all the way to the white sandy beaches of Tulum

Daniella Hunter and Charlie Gay are the duo responsible for the inspiration and concept behind Hotel Sanara which was thoughtfully designed by Studio Arquitectos

LOVE TO LOUNGE RIGHT HERE

Now this is one beautifully inspiring loungey bohemian space - just dreaming about laying there reading a book or chatting to some friends or just the act of being, not doing, not wanting, just contentment and being - that has inspired me and lifted my oh so dreary spirits today

WOULD LOVE TO LOUNGE RIGHT HERE

A bit of sunshine and a cosy rug is sometimes all we need to feel at peace ....  have a happy Monday!

PROJECT IN YOKOHAMA-SHI, KANAGAWA BY NO 555

Being a big fan of Japanese architecture and how well they can come up with such creative ideas - thinking way way outside the box .... its no wonder that this little 'box house' swooned me over and grabbed my attention just as I was about to share another project.

Its not a big space - and its modestly furnished - but with that brings a certain 'zenness' and calm
I can imagine the inhabitants happily living their lives not spending hours and hours keeping everything tidy and everything in place.  But what there is is necessary and what there is I'm sure brings them joy.

Things I like here is the entrance, and that 'gabled cutout' -  I wonder if that's something I'd be able to incorporate into my little South African project.... I wonder if the council will allow that kind of fun in the design... well I guess without trying I will never know will I

I like the courtyard upon entry and I also like a lot the step leading up to the living area.  I love dreaming up spaces and using a deep high step, which can also be used as a seat or to create a clear separation between spaces, without the use of walls.

I like the use of plywood, eventhough its not something I would lend myself to personally, but I do like how they have incorporated it here.

INVITING ITALIAN HOME IN BLACK WHITE AND WOOD

I spotted the picture of this beautiful kitchen this morning via Pinterest.  But as the days seem to be running away at a speed like I've never known before - I thought I best get my little fingers typing away so I can share this absolutely beautiful project right here right now, while I'm chewing on some celery and humus to keep me going before I have some supper and.... before it becomes another listed item in my 'posts to write on another day'  So many beautiful things to share, so little time....

OUTDOOR INSPIRATION

Some beautiful outdoor inspirations for your gardens or balconies or roof terraces.  I do love the contrasting dark walls with some white pots and then the lush green foliage.  You don't need a lot of space to create a relaxing and calming environment to enjoy the outdoors.

Especially nowadays I feel less is more, smaller is better, more manageable - allowing us more free time to enjoy life and live life - and be present in life
