BOHEMIAN BOUTIQUE HOTEL - CASA COOK RHODES

I'm not going to try and write something about this place, as it's just too perfect to try and spoil with a few measly sentences - swooning over the hammocks and the pool and the plush cushions - love the tribal designs by the way - all the little details - all so well designed, even the menu's are on theme - and well aimed at a very specific market

I've not even included the rooms, that will need to follow in a separate post as I'd hate for anyone to overdose on all this beautiful 'bohemianness' ..... I can't stop staring at my screen - imagining what a holiday at this place would feel like

I imagine bliss times 100 for sure

INDIE HOME COLLECTIVE - TO DINE IN STYLE

Just been absolute swooning over the website of the Indie Home Collective - an interiors and lifestyle concept store in Aukland - and oh my they just sound like such beautiful kind warm people!

No wonder all the imagery is beautifully styled and inspiring - effortlessly so indeed.  One rainy day when I finally make it over to NZ - and to be honest its not quite yet on the list, but it's soon to be - this place will be first stop... and oh my they're hiring!

I'm in love with this recycled jersey lampshade by AY Illuminate - yours for a mere 995 NZD
So head on over to their online shop or blog... but be sure to have a pot of tea and your bank card at the ready... I resisted thank heavens!

INVITING ITALIAN HOME IN BLACK WHITE AND WOOD

I spotted the picture of this beautiful kitchen this morning via Pinterest.  But as the days seem to be running away at a speed like I've never known before - I thought I best get my little fingers typing away so I can share this absolutely beautiful project right here right now, while I'm chewing on some celery and humus to keep me going before I have some supper and.... before it becomes another listed item in my 'posts to write on another day'  So many beautiful things to share, so little time....

Love the mid century dining room table and chairs
Love the wooden beam in the living room
Love the outdoor entertaining space
Love love LOVE the kitchen....

LIVE LOVE SPARKLE

We don't always have control over the things that happen to us, but we have control over how we choose to react.

In the mornings, even before we are fully awake, we can choose how we want to start the day.  Even before we open our eyes, let us put a smile on our face and wake up grateful for another day, grateful for the soul that abodes within us and grateful for the shell that is our bodies, that will carry our soul form place to place and from person to person.

Let us take good care of our soul and it will shine brightly through our shell of a human body, and it will create beautiful ripples of good vibrations.  Let us take good care of our bodies, so that it will be healthy and it can house our souls in the most splendid of ways.

And let us choose kindness, and love - and let us be kind to those close to us as much as we are kind to strangers.  And let us treat strangers with the same kindness we would like to have bestowed on us.

And sometimes when we feel the least inclined to be filled with love, those are the times we need to take a moment and choose love, choose life and let it sparkle

WHITE AND LIGHT INDUSTRIAL HOME IN ITALIAN COUNTRYSIDE

This is the beautiful home of Monica Rusconi who runs fashion label album di famiglia with her siblings. A former 70 square meter commercial property has been lovingly turned into a bright and light family home now comfortably sitting over 2 floors, and a total of 140 square meters.
What I like.... perfect concrete floors in either grey or white.... check
A bit of exposed brick wall here and there..... check
Whitewashed brick walls in other areas ..... check
Lightness and brightness ..... check
The kitchen, the living room, the bedroom, the bathroom, the outside courtyard terrace.... need I go on?  Needless to say the sofa and that concrete table top!

I'm always inspired by seeing beautiful and minimal yet homely homes like this one... and it stirs in me the desire to work harder delightfully, to work better gratefully and to every day focus my energies on being and staying positive - on being and staying kind - and on sharing the beauty of life and love all round....

SKIP STOP HOUSE MARYLEBONE by DESIGN HAUS LIBERTY

Feeling really psyched and excited!  You know sometimes when you go 'I really love my job' and you really really feel like you love your job.  It makes my other jobs so much more bearable having this one highlight - and to be able to connect with likeminded people - its just quite wonderful!  Trying to keep up the momentum - and focussing on creating more of the same energy - more of the same interactions more of the same projects ....

So coming back from a really positive meeting this afternoon, I received a lovely email with a ps: you'd like this project!  And I did, so here I'm sharing it with you all - Tim thanks for the heads up!

Amazing what can be done on a relatively tight budget (£80 per square meter) but they seem to have managed it quite well with this conversion of a building in Marylebone, London into a collection of beautiful apartments.   Sometimes we can find so much more behind the skin of a building, if we're just willing to explore and look a bit deeper - and I love the exposed brick walls and the exposed patinated plastered walls they managed to include into the pallet and design.

Chevron timber flooring is interspersed with white quartz tiles cut to the same dimensions as the wooden boards that indicate the transition between the living and kitchen areas.  And if you head over to Domus tiles, they now also do a beautiful range of wooden flooring Domus Wood - I'm certain they'd be able to create the same for you!
