C PENTHOUSE BY VINCENT VAN DUYSEN

This week I've totally been crushing on this beautiful minimal urban loft in Antwerp, Belgium - designed by Vincent van Duysen (super talented, intensely creative - and all time favourite designer needless add)

The palette is subdued with the use of rough timber and concrete thus in keeping with the historical vernacular and prominence of warehouses in the surrounding quay and city area.  The space has volume, and light, and feels inviting yet still remains in keeping with a very minimal design aesthetic.  Just a beautiful minimal almost monochrome loft like space - but the warm tones and timber clad interior in some areas adds an organic and comforting feel

Lots of inspiration here for my weekend getaway - still in the planning, still in the making, not quite yet off the ground ... but getting there (she says, and smiles)

BALIQUE RESTAURANT - JIMBARAN, BALI

Today I'm happy to share with you a new found restaurant, and this one is on my list for a visit when I'll be back in Bali in a few months time -  I've been meaning to go head back to that blissful Isle for some time now - and having this to look forward to is perhaps just what was needed to get me focused and back on track and into this thing called life again!

So back to Balique Restaurant - you will find this Vintage Cafe/ Restaurant in Jimbaran, along Jalan Raya Uluwatu.  I love the colourful vintage feel - perfectly combined with slightly paired down wall and floor finishes;  lanterns and lampshades a plenty - and authentic perhaps oldie worldy take - and don't we all love spaces that can transport us to another age or era even.

One for the list - this one is for sure!

LIMASEN ELLIE BY STUDIO MAGNOLIA, BALI

I love everything about this home!  Its a traditional Limasen which have been tastefully redesigned for a Finnish family who now live in Bali

Alejandra Cisneros is the architect behind this wonderful project, light, airy and open - and if you; like me, like anything and everything from this corner of the world - you'd love her other projects too

I stumbled upon Alejandra's work by pure chance.  I was searching google, as one does - for Architects in Ubud - and this amazing 'architect designed airbnb in ubud' appeared in my results.  For the next hour or so I was practically glued to my laptop - planning my big escape and dreaming about living in a beautiful Joglo or Limasen in Ubud or Sidemen or anywhere in Bali or beyond.  Fortunate for us, Alejandra is sharing her beautiful work with the rest of us - and she has a couple of truly unique AirBnB's we can spend a magical few days in.  The only slight problem is .... which one to choose!

You would also love her other architectural projects which you are welcome to visit here at Studio Magnolia - and do set some time aside you will be inspired and ready to book that flight to Bali - that I can guarantee you!

Happy day dreaming - and wishing you a good night

CASA IMPALA - HOLBOX ISLAND

If you are looking at planning your next vacation abroad -  'Holbox Island' in Mexico should be top of your list - from what I gather, it is the next Tallum

This is Casa Impala - which you can book via AirBnb here  - first spotted via Pinterest and all images are via AirBnb

I've never been to Mexico or South America - yet my dream list of holiday spots are growing by the day ... Drift in San Jose, and now Casa Impala ..... feels like the America's are pulling me by the hair - with so many friends now living, or moving there.

Imagine doing your sun salutations on that terrace - or hanging in the hammock as the sun settles for the day with a freshly made chilled caipirinha in hand
