POWERFUL AFFIRMATIONS TO START THE DAY

Hello hello there, and wow!  What a ride since my last post on the blog... September 2018 wow!

I won't even know where to start - so for now I won't.  But .... I am back and excited to start sharing again all that inspires and motives and keeps me going though this lifetime

I would love to hear from you if anything I share may resonates or have made you ponder for a moment or two.

These beautiful affirmations are from Hanako Therapies

I have saved a few more on my Inspire Pinterest Board here

Sometimes we can feel a sense of overwhelm when so much is beyond our control.  It is exhausting to say the least.  The idea is to not allow the overwhelm to take away from our sense of being.
To notice the overwhelm but then to choose again.  To choose a softer feeling and to choose a lighter feeling.  To reclaim the present moment as fully ours and to focus on just one small thing that is good, that can bring us joy, that can allow us to feel even the slightest of upliftments.  To vibe higher - it is as easy as said and done... but it is a daily practise and to constantly keep checking in on ourselves

To keep our thoughts in alignment with what is for our greatest good

So today - let's focus on 'being' on 'surrendering' on 'going gently'

With love

JUST BE YOU

an urban village original

JUST BE YOU

What does it mean though to be you’
In a world where we are constantly being bombarded by having to behave this way or that way or looking like we have just stepped off a magazine cover or driving this car or that - what about just being you - to not be recognized as a matter of your belongings or what you have achieved - but to be recognised by your truth, by speaking your truth and by living your truth and by standing up for your truth

I believe the more of us stand together in our uniqueness, in our perfectly flawed humanness - that vibration of realness will start resonating with more and more people and soon we will be a whole collective of humanity - a mass of humankind - human kind - that in our tribes and droves will pull together and form a powerful movement of love and of light and of warmth
I think its already started happening

I imagine a beautiful spiderweb with soft sparkly threads with each strand connecting at very specific points to form the most perfect web
Imagine each one of us - are those connecting points on that beautiful and perfectly formed web - our place just perfect and within that we form a perfect whole.
Now imagine I want to be you - so I start mirroring you, your behaviour - what you say and what you do, how you do your hair …. and soon my connecting point disappears and your connecting point becomes thicker - if more and more of us want to become someone else - the more and more gaps there will be forming in this once perfectly formed web - and it will start being off balance

When the web has too many holes - too many copies of copies of copies of people - the web will become too week to stay strong enough to stick together….. and we will start picking holes in each other because of the holes in our web
It feels like we need to almost forget everything we think we now and learn anew how to be me and you how to be you - spend some time hanging with your soul - and really feel how does it feel to just be you
You are enough, you are perfect - you are exactly where you need to be
The more true we become to our selves - the more space we make for our soul to shine, and the less space there is for our ego to want to change us into something we are not.  When we are in this state of accepting our true self - just purely by the act of acceptance, we are allowing ourselves the space to grow into the most perfect version of ourselves - and therefore move back to our original space, our original connecting point in that perfectly formed web - imagine it so thin and so beautiful yet so delicate with sunlight and dewdrops now being caught by this web - and suddenly the most beautiful rainbow colours are reflecting and shining out from each and every connecting point on this web - and this web is starting to rotate and move and with each rotation each connecting point are getting stronger and stronger and truer and truer to themselves - yet it all happens collectively because of the connectivity between each of us, between each point - until it reaches a point where the force of the rotation causes the web the disintegrate in the most beautiful of explosion allowing each one of those tiny little connecting points to go off into the atmosphere and slowly growing new connections and forming a new webs until the whole is connected as one big beautiful rainbow of magnificence

Imagine recognising each other from a place of truth- and moving in our lives from that place of realness and rawness - but also imagine once we start accepting ourselves and our place - by accepting it - we are actively standing in our place - and therefore we are allowing ourselves the space to grow into where we need to be…… its all about the ebbing and the flowing like the phases of the moon and tides - neither are fighting the other - a perfect unison in movement creating an energy field that will draw in what is needed and release what no longer serves us
Making space to draw in more of what is needed and releasing each time that which no longer serves us ….. nothing is permanent, we are forever changing - but only by accepting our truth we are allowing the changing to happen - when we are fighting our truth - that is when we become stuck, we become stagnant - we feel stuck
And because we think from a place of self and not from a place of truth -the place of self wants to be seen
The place of truth is just being

A NEW PERSPECTIVE

You guys - this is quite extraordinary .... and so much so that I just have to share it.  I've just come to sit back down at my desk where I'm having my lunch; but as I was walking to the kitchen and then back again to the office - I just suddenly felt light again, and I felt excited again, and I felt like how I haven't felt in a very very VERY long time .... it almost felt like I have dropped a very heavy coat of armour that I have been carrying around with me unnecessarily for all this time.

And as I sat down I started browsing Pinterest, like I often do when I'm taking a break or a breather - and this post showed up in my feed - and I just felt like this is exactly EXACTLY how I am feeling right now.

I mean I do know, and I do realise that these feelings of happiness and contentment can be quite fleeting - but that is why I want to really capture and share this moment, so I can reflect back on it and relive it one way or another.

It's exciting though to think that one's mind can be such a powerful tool - to create such strong feelings of happiness and contentment, and yet also the darkness it can allow us to be surrounded it.  The suffering, the struggles - often because of the choices we've made - and then the guilt because we beat ourselves up about these bad choices.  And then on the other hand, sometimes we feel so stuck by our circumstances that we just DO NOT KNOW which way out....

I've been going through a lot of motions and emotions - a process - but I have chosen to make some changes too - to seek help for how I am feeling, because sometimes we just cannot do these things on our own.  More to follow on that front as that in itself is a very interesting experience and a big healing one too.

But today - today I am feeling really good, like things are starting to click into place again - like where I have stepped off the path the universe had planned for me .... it now feels like it is slowly put surely starting to pull me back on track, and back in line with where I need to be, and with what I need to be doing....

So watch this space and more will follow real soon, even later on this evening .... as I have more to share indeed

Lots of love to you all

LET YOUR HEART SOAR AS IT WILL ....

Isn't this just the most beautiful reminder ever ....

'refuse to be average let your heart soar as it will - aw tozer'

This couldn't be truer than true today. I have this quote printed and stuck on a cork board next to my desk at one of the offices I work at... sometimes I forget it's even there. But this morning it just caught my eye again ... a reminder that we are anything but average; don't ever allow anyone or any situation make you feel any less

After all .... You are extraordinary, you are made of stardust and the whole universe trembles at the sight of your delightful gaze...

This enlarged on canvas for my bedroom - good idea!

NOT AS MUCH OVER AS OUT - 2015...

And suddenly the shimmer of a new year, of this coming new year is upon us - like a distant sunset suddenly disappears behind the ocean.... darkness ...... and then light as the new morning of the first day of the new year will dawn.

But I want to tie a knot in today, I want to make it last, I'm just not quite yet ready to let go, I'm not yet ready for a whole new year - 2015 has run wild and sometimes it feels like I've been holding on to its mane while struggling to hold on tight enough to get back on and into its saddle and ride this wild stallion like the year I was supposed to have....

A good year nonetheless, it had its challenges and trials and tribulations - lessons have been learnt along the way - I have grown somewhat deeper and somewhat quieter - not because there was nothing to say,  but I guess I have learnt to speak without saying too much - and I have prayed and prayed and prayed - I have prayed for my family and for my friends, for peace in the world, and a stop to all the wars and the loss of innocent young lives, I have prayed for wisdom and a compassionate heart

And now on this new years eve -
I will pray again for each and everyone to find contentment in their daily lives and to feel a sense of belonging wherever they may be on their path, on their life's journey.  I will pray that we may all be able to live fully our life's purpose and to find what it is that truly makes us feel alive and strive to live that life.  I will pray that we will learn anew each and every day what a wonderful gift each new day is, and that we will be grateful everyday, and that we will live to let our light and our love shine forth

This is my new years prayer and wish for you one and all - and with that a 'happy new year'
Make this one count!

LIVE LOVE SPARKLE

We don't always have control over the things that happen to us, but we have control over how we choose to react.

In the mornings, even before we are fully awake, we can choose how we want to start the day.  Even before we open our eyes, let us put a smile on our face and wake up grateful for another day, grateful for the soul that abodes within us and grateful for the shell that is our bodies, that will carry our soul form place to place and from person to person.

Let us take good care of our soul and it will shine brightly through our shell of a human body, and it will create beautiful ripples of good vibrations.  Let us take good care of our bodies, so that it will be healthy and it can house our souls in the most splendid of ways.

And let us choose kindness, and love - and let us be kind to those close to us as much as we are kind to strangers.  And let us treat strangers with the same kindness we would like to have bestowed on us.

And sometimes when we feel the least inclined to be filled with love, those are the times we need to take a moment and choose love, choose life and let it sparkle

UNEXPECTED TIMES

Oh life, and isn't it just so true... sometimes we hold on so tight, too tight, our fists clenched because we just cannot let go...

It could be silly little habits that's hard to let go of... or it could be an environment we are faced with .... or it can be someone toxic that we need to let go of, but oh its oh so hard.

I can only say this - listen, allow yourself some quiet time and listen to your soul and you will never be led astray.

I have recently had to let go of a work situation - and even though this comes at a price - I knew that I had made the right decision.  Having a couple of different studios I'm working for makes it quite difficult sometimes to find the balance - but I had to do it for me.  The very long hours, and the very long days just started to wear me down.  If something doesn't serve us anymore we also need to be courageous and let go.

And you know what, life has a way of working out - the way I see it is that by having faith, and taking a risk, and making space in our lives, or in our time or in our hearts - there is a little gap for life to surprise us with by filling it with something or someone wonderful and new.

For me I need the time to focus on which direction I am heading in - both professionally and personally - and really in reality the 2 are now soon becoming one, which is kind of an ideal situation.  But I need to pay a bit more attention to my own personal projects, so I can get them off the ground.  But also to just have time, the luxury of time on my hands... oh what bliss that will be

So - take courage dear one, trust life just a little bit - but take time to be still - and don't rush into making a quick decision, because sometimes those aren't always the best times to think clearly....

And good luck - you deserve the very best of life - that life has to offer, and we need to be a little bit bold in going for what we believe in

LOVE WHO YOU ARE...

Some of my favorite art and illustrations by the very talented Anahata Katkin... And I just have a few words to say before I end my day, and head off to the land of nod...

'love who you are'  and what does it really mean?  I think self love, and self acceptance is one of the most difficult things for us as a human race to not only accept - but then to practise on a daily basis.  If more of us allowed ourselves to love the true, the real, the raw - not the person we want the outside world to see.... but the real you and the real me that's been buried underneath all the should haves and would haves and maybes and what ifs....

What if there were no what ifs - what if we realise that this is the one and only real life, we don't get a dress rehearsal, we don't get a second chance at life. Because we don't know when the curtains will be drawn and our lives will come to an end.  A couple of weeks ago I got a message from my mum.  My cousin's son was killed in a bike accident and died at the age of 23.  Sadly I never got to know him, we never even met - but one thing I know is that this young man, in the prime of his life - lived a very full life and he touched so many lives with his abundant energy and lust for life, his laughter and his honesty in being true to who he was.  I think its that honesty that has drawn so many people to him, and that had touched so many lives in his very short life.  My heart goes out each and every time I see his sister post a message or his girlfriend or his mother or any of his friends... a true gent, a true gem - he is no longer with us, he has passed through this life, to his eternal life... where I am sure he is shining down on all those who still love him and miss him each and every day.

I cannot imagine the sadness and the loss - but one thing this has made me think about a lot is - how we live our lives, do we embrace each opportunity we have to make someones life more pleasant and happy, do we try and share positivity and light wherever we go?  Do we reach out even when we feel like our energies are so low we are not even functioning on reserves anymore ....

I want to live a grateful life, and I want to share the abundance of wonder and beauty that I stumble upon in the here and now - there is so much sadness and disasters we are faced with on a daily basis, a new crises, or yet another natural disaster - and it's not about turning a blind eye - because I very much understand and appreciate the day and age we are living in.  But I think now more than ever we need to focus on sharing the good news, we need to be encouraging to each other, and we need to live everyday not in fear of death, but in hope and in the knowing that this life we have, and the life we have led - that we have lived it full to the brim - we have explored all that there was in our being, we have lived out our purpose - we have found our gift - and we have shared that gift gracefully and gratefully.

Let us not be ashamed of any part of our humanness but let us celebrate in life, in this one magical, special gift and let us speak our truths and live our truths and let us love who we are, and let us love each other truthfully and abundantly.... peace out, love and light to each and every one of you!

AFFIRMATIONS AND INSPIRATION BY CARLYMARIE

This week I somehow stumbled upon these beautiful and inspirational quotes by a young woman named Carly Marie - from Australia.  Her story is such a sad one, but from it she has inspired so many heartbroken families, mothers and fathers who lost a baby or child.

It is well worth visiting her website: CarlyMarie Project Heal to browse some of her beautiful quotes and inspirations, but also on those days when we feel sad and blue - there's a shimmer of sunshine even shining through her sad and heart broken quotes.

Its about acceptance, and grieving and about healing - about friendships and about being there for each other - sometimes in silence and sometimes in excited shouts and screams and sometimes sharing the tears.

I cannot help but feel my heart really reach out to her - I have not experienced this kind of grief or loss in my life - yet her words I'm sure will somehow speak to each and everyone who visits her site.  She and her family is an inspiration - and I'm so grateful to have made such a beautiful discovery.

I have printed a couple of her affirmations and stuck them on my bathroom wall - next to my mirror - a daily reminder to be grateful, to be kind to ourselves and others, to accept ourselves and others with love and to heal from within....
