PAINT CUPS BY NORM DESIGN

Norm is a multidisciplinary design studio focusing on residential architecture, commercial interiors and industrial design. Norm was founded in 2008 by architects Kasper Rønn and Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen by their vocation to create timeless architecture and meaningful design products.

MORE WHITE AND BLACK

A freelance contract has recently come to an end, with all this free time at hand - instead of looking for the next contract, I thought I'd rather share some interior snaps from home.  And I can job-hunt later!!

This little chest of drawers is in my bedroom - I got it from a second hand shop on Kingsland Road in Shoreditch a few years ago.  Great find, at a steal price and perfect to store all my hair and beauty products in.  The mirror has moved with me over the years, I'm not to keen on the blue frame - but can't decide whether I should paint it black or white.  Any suggestions?

The black and white terriers are actually salt and pepper pots - and you can buy them at Debenhams for £6.  They're fun and a little bit different, and I am not yet ready to share them downstairs in the kitchen.  I'm keeping them ornamental - maybe they'll get put to use for a dinner party someday.

The zebra stripe storage container is from OlalaBox and they have a wonderful selection of fun and fabulous storage solutions.  Its a German company, and not too sure if they have a stockist in the UK.  I got mine from the little market at Columbia Road.

My fossil watch needs a new battery - so for the time being I have it surrounding a silver heart.  They heart has a gentle chime inside, and such a lovely sound to wake a loved one up for some coffee!  Also for me personally I look at it as a reminder that there is no right time for love - it could happen anytime!

ALL WHITE DENMARK HOME OF TINE KJELDSEN

This house oozes with a rustic country charm, in pure white, wood, a little bit of grey, and a tad of unexpected colour.  This is the house of Tine Kjeldsen, also owner and designer of the Tine K Home homewares brand.

I love the old filing cabinet in the last image - and the kitchen: a dreamy perfect space for cooking and baking and entertaining.  The old birdcage on the low bookshelf and gilded frame - all blends in quite naturally with the otherwise all white theme.

BEAUTIFUL DENMARK HOME OF JETTE ROMVIG

I am almost at a loss for words, as these images really speak for themselves.  Just so beautiful in each and every way possible,  deep-pile rugs, the stark monochrome palette, the bits of bright colour here and there.

Such a calm and soothing space to call home, inviting and light - especially in those long northern winter months.  I can imagine watching the world go by in front of that fireplace - a good book, a glass of red wine... or perhaps a hot chocolate! 

There is no clutter whatsoever, and the few handpicked accessories and personal mementos are thoughtfully placed throughout this amazing space.  For my own home I will definitely add some framed images and canvases on at least one wall.

Here texture helps create a warm and comfortable space, tactile wool cushions, silky wood finishes and throws all feature - inviting you relax in comfort and wrapped in luxury.

This is one house that I'd love to visit and walk through and just sit in that chair in front of the fireplace and really feel and breathe the space.

HONG KONG LOFT - AIRBNB

This is the gorgeous Hong Kong loft apartment of designer Candace Campos. The polished concrete floor in a deep grey adds a touch of an industrial feel, which is then contrasted by the crisp black and white interiors, and wooden accessories.

Candace rents out her loft apartment on Airbnb, which allows her to be able to work internationally.  “Airbnb funds my travel. I’ll rent out my place and go work from London for a week or two. The pursuit of mobility in my life turned me into a minimalist. People love staying at my place in Hong Kong because it is such a chaotic city, but I have created a space with room to breathe and be calm.”

Airbnb is a community marketplace for space where people can list, discover and book unique accommodations all over the globe — from FLW to Eames, its pages are pure design candy.  The concept is simple: Airbnb lets people rent out their properties to travelers, and allows them to cash in on their spare space. Founded by a pair of industrial designers and a coder, its inventory reflects its roots.

Launched for the IDSA World Congress in 2007, the design community quickly realized Airbnb was not only a great way to showcase and earn income from their properties, but also to unlock the doors to other unique spaces around the world.

SECOND FEMALE: COPENHAGEN

Today I thought I'd share a little summer purchase I'm very excited about.  This gorgeous birdie blouse is by Second Female DK, and I must confess, soon as I laid eyes on it - it was sold!  Even though we are now getting ready for wintry hats and scarves, I thought it's a nice and bright little snippet to share.  Also, it reminds me of the swallows migrating to warmer climates now that the seasons are on the change.

It wears well with skinny jeans - and feels silky soft to the touch.  Now all that's between me and this little fabulous number, is 3 months till my next holiday south!

Got some very odd results when I googled 'black wiry chair' - but alas, I found not one but a few to choose from!

I think the first one would be my favorite, but the second could be a fun option too.  Perhaps with a soft sheepskin cushion... winter awaits!
