I AM FEELING A BIT BLUE...
No- I really am... it's weird, and I can't quite explain why. Everything is fine, I'm feeling healthy and good, just my mindset is not quite right. I can't focus, I don't feel inspired. I hope it will pass soon. Perhaps the grey skies of late are playing a part... Anyone else feeling blue?
Speaking of blue- and the lack of blue skies....
I found some of these images via a most inspiring and beautiful blog called fjellby which I think means 'mountain' and 'city' in Norwegian. They make beautiful chopping boards - which I will post about next.
The images are by photographer Jeroen van der Spek - aren't they just amazing!
Enough to lift this blue mood of mine just a tad for sure!

LA MAISON POJUL - CARCASONNE
Would love to stay here the next time I visit the South of France. La Maison Pujol is located just outside Carcassone in an old winery and offers 5 guest rooms. All individually decorated - with interesting design objects - I love the big letters and interesting art everywhere. Also nice to see some series 7 chairs in the mix as well.
It seems that a lot I have been posting lately has been guest houses, or travel destinations - it's not intentional - but perhaps its just the way my thinking is leaning towards at present.

BEETROOT, GREEN BEAN AND GOAT'S CHEESE SALAD
This is a delicious summer time recipe - I made it a few weeks ago, on a bright and *warm* sunny Sunday afternoon and it went down a treat! I served it with roast chicken and jeweled couscous. Will also be a great salad to have with a BBQ. I love the colours and interesting combination of ingredients and textures. I am a big fan of goats cheese and it's always in my fridge.
This should print easily onto a 5x7 card.
And enjoy!
5TH STREET - THE BROOKLYN HOME COMPANY
I have seen the first image on the net a lot, but could never find a link back to it's origination. And finally .... now I have.
This is or was the home of Fitzhugh Karol, a woodworker and sculptor, and Lyndsay Caleo, a jewelry designer and goldsmith. I love all they have done with the space - a very talented couple indeed. From the little sleeping nook, up the ladder to the bright and airy lounge with solid tree trunk coffee tables. I have only added my favorite fee images, but there's plenty more to this property to drool over.
The article on designsponge is well worth a read.

APARTMENT BERGEN INTERIOR DESIGN BY PIET-JAN VAN DEN KOMMER
Today I am very excited to share these images of apartment Bergen in the Netherlands - beautifully photographed by Jolanda Kruse. Interior design by Piet-Jan van den Kommer .... and I was a little bit surprised that I have not come across the work of this very talented designer up till now.
"The philosophy of Piet Jan van den Kommer says it all: "Pure honest
materials that get more beautiful by being used and besides that they
always consist and display a certain rough authenticity"
Piet-Jan started making furniture for family and friends at the very young age of 14, in a shed in the back garden of the family home. Fifteen years later, Piet-Jan had developed into a designer of note and now operates from a 15,000 m2 space consisting of his office, a showroom and workshop - hosting a wide variety of lifestyle products mainly using natural materials such as wood, zinc, stell, stone and concrete and leather.
Piet-Jan will always look for and find the best and most suited combination of natural materials.

My favorite furniture piece is definitely the wooden blocked coffee table, very original, very rustic and very natural. I also love what he has done with the polished concrete shower inclosure (image 4) - and did I mention that soon we will be offering this very same beautiful finish - so please keep watching this space

CASA DANIELA FORMENTERA - JORDI CANOSA PHOTOGRAPHER
A perfect holiday home - this space really has it all! Exposed painted beams, an indoor hanging chair - open space...
The colours are light and neutral and natural - easy to start dreaming of summer holidays in hot countries. And if you're planning to visit Formentera - your luck is in, as this gorgeous home of stylist, Daniela Cavestany is available for holiday rentals! View the website here and enjoy plenty more eye candy.
What I like most is the soft subtle colours, the angular design, the rough plastered walls and concrete floors - the feeling of being in a very hot and dry climate - but the indoors offering cool comfort from the heat.
Beautifully done and on my 'must visit destination dream-list'
